1-Log in to the FortiGate Web Interface:

    • Open your browser and enter the IP address of your FortiGate device.
    • Log in with your credentials.

2-Create a Web Filter Profile:

    • Go to Security Profiles > Web Filter.
    • Click Create New to create a new web filter profile.
    • Name the profile (e.g., “Block_YouTube”).


3-Add YouTube to the Block List:

    • In the new profile, go to the Static URL Filter section.
    • Add the following URLs with the action set to Block:
      • .*youtube.*
      • .*googlevideo.*
      • .*ytimg.*

4-Block QUIC Protocol:

    • QUIC protocol can bypass some filters, so it’s important to block it.
    • Go to Security Profiles > Application Control.
    • Create or edit an application control profile.

o   Application and Filter Overrides Create New

o   Search Youtube click Add All Results click OK


5-Apply the Web Filter Profile to a Policy:

    • Go to Policy & Objects > IPv4 Policy.
    • Edit the policy that allows internet access.
    • Under Security Profiles, enable Web Filter and select the profile you created (e.g., “Block_YouTube”).
    • Under Security Profiles, enable Application Control and select the profile you created (e.g., “Block_YouTube”).
