How to configure Failove 2 ISP in MikroTik Router

 Failover if  one ISP connection down and one more ISP is Up


  1. Connect to ISP1
  2. Connect to ISP2
  3. Configure LAN IP Address 
  4. Confiugre DNS
  5. Configure DHCP Server
  6. Configure Routes 
  7. Configure NAT
  8. Testing Clients
  • Open winbox login to your router via IP Address or Mac Address
  • Remane Interface: Go to interface ether1 to ehter1-WAN1, ether2 to ether2-WAN2, ether3, ether3-LAN

1. Configure to WAN1

  • Go to IP > Address > "+" button > fill out your IP address of WAN1 > Ok

1. Configure to WAN2

  • Go to IP > Address > "+" button > fill out your IP address of WAN2 > Ok

3. Configure LAN IP address 
  • Go to IP > Address > "+" button > fill out your IP address of  LAN > Ok

4. Configure DNS
  • Go to IP > DNS > File out DNS of your ISP (thic articles we used Google's DNS 8.8.8.8)

5. Configue DHCP Server
  • Go to IP > DHCP Server > DHCP Setup > following via wizard step 

6. Configure Routes WAN1 make as Primary
  • Go to IP > Routes > "+" button > fill out imformatio of your WAN1
  • Note Distance lower take priority = 1


6.1 Configure Routes WAN2 make as Seconday
  • Go to IP > Routes > "+" button > fill out imformatio of your WAN2
  • Note Distance lower take priority = 2

7. Configure NAT
  • Go to IP > Firewall > NAT > "+" button > 
  • Chain: srcnat


Action tap
  • Action: masquerade

8. Testing Clients
  • We disable WAN1 but Internet it still working
